Chester Bennington, Frontman for Linkin Park, Commits Suicide at 41

I am in absolute shock. About an hour ago, I was telling my brother how I was about to get tickets for the Linkin Park concert at Hollywood Casino in Tinley Park.

A friend overhead and came over to share some unsettling news. Chester Bennington, the lead singer of Linkin Park died hours earlier of an apparent suicide. Reports are stating that the father of 6 was found just before 9 a.m. today, the 20th of July.

It has me feeling all the feels as Linkin Park, along with Counting Crows and Staid were pretty much the soundtrack to my teenage years and young adult life.  Linkin Park songs still frequent my radio.

They came out with a new song, Heavy, featuring Kiiara, just earlier this year. A song I downloaded as soon as I Shazaamed it.

Linkin Park was set to play at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre August 14th as part of their One More Light tour.

This happens just months after Chris Cornell, Soundgarding frontman, took his life just shy of his 53rd birthday. They are reported to be friends.

I can honestly say I am shocked and saddened by this news.

If you or anyone you know are struggling with thoughts of suicide, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.

I’ll just leave these right here.
