After a mass shooting we all try to find reasons why, most of us if not all of us find the wrong answer

I woke up today. Did some cleaning. Took the garbage out. Sat down for breakfast. Got dressed. Sat down with my aunt. She told me 20+ were shot dead in a gay nightclub in Orlando.

My response, as well as most, is usually something close to holy shit, why?

We always want to know why. Sometimes because we're curious. Sometimes we want to stop it from happening again.

After getting on facebook this morning I realize none of us know the answer. Some say it's because he's Muslim and don't you know? Anyone whose Muslim is a murderer of course.

Some say it's because the bible. Many people use the Bible as permission to hate certain groups. And anyone who reads the bible hates gays right?

Some say it's because many Americans don't have God in their hearts. Oh ya, I forgot I'm a killing machine because I don't believe in God.

And of course there are many who blame the gun. Because guns walk and can shoot themselves.

What about mental health. We don't treat that like we are suppose to? Does every person who is affected by a mental disability shoot and kill 50 people? No.

Well your all wrong. I'm not going to pretend I have the answer either. I don't. But not one of these things alone leads to a horrific deadly event like the one that happened today.

Don't get me wrong. I don't care for religious extremists who do use the bible to hate. I don't think normal every day citizens should carry automatic weapons. I don't think wanting to ban automatic weapons is the same thing as trampling 2nd amendment rights. Lastly, think mental heath does need more attention from our government.

But each of these things alone didn't kill 50 people. I don't have religion. I haven't in over 15 years. I know Muslims who don't have a hateful bone in their body. I know gun enthusiasts who would never turn their gun on a human unless their life was in danger.

I guess what I'm trying to say is there is no one why. If there was and I had to guess? Intolerance for your neighbor? But that alone doesn't kill people. It has got to be a combination of events in this person's life to lead to this point.

This person was sick. In whatever way he was sick. I do want to know why. But in these cases, I don't think we will ever truly know the answer.
