Plitvice Lakes National Park Series:
There’s a place in Europe, Croatia to be exact, that is a little piece of heaven on earth. Seriously. There is no other way to put it. I got the chance to visit Plitvice Lakes National Park with one of my best friends this past May and I’d really like to share some pictures with the world.
If you ever get the chance to go to Croatia, stop here. No, it’s not on the coast by the beaches. It’s not super close to the capital, Zagreb. It’s out of your way. It’s worth it.
- Go Early. I mean it, get there before it opens. Even in offseason, it was jam-packed by the middle of the day. Going offseason, I would imagine, is your best bet as well.
- Bring lots of water. Even in the cooler weather. You’ll need it. I ran out fast and had to steal my friend’s water bottle. Also- don’t leave yours in the bathroom like me! What a nut…
- Bring your camera so you can have your own memories of what I’m about to share. Also- these pictures do not capture the essence of being there yourself. The sound, the breeze, the terrible aching muscle pain (apparently I have very tight calves), and the magical nature everywhere you look is worth the trip. Trust me.
