Music Box Theatre Presents New Year’s Eve on the S.S. Poseidon

If this doesn't sound like the best way to spend your New Year's Eve, I don't know what does.

I'm not one to head out to the bars on NYE and I'm always on the prowl for something awesome. Well, my search is now over.

After tweeting the @MusicBoxTheatre that the Homemade Pizza Co. next to them was going to be having a pretty legit fundraiser tomorrow night, they let me know they were doing some pretty awesome things themselves.

Here's what they got lined up for NYE:

“Passengers” are invited to embark at 11:00 pm on December 31 for a Camp Midnight pre-show hosted by your Captain Dick O’Day and staffed by the hearty crew of Hell in a Handbag Productions. There will be a costume competition with fantastic prizes as voted on by the audience! So put on your best wear from that secondhand store!

Then sit back and enjoy a screening of the film most beloved disaster flick in cinema history, THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE. This 1972 Academy Award-winning “classic” tells the tale of a tottering ocean liner that flips over one fateful New Year’s Eve.

Audience members will receive an interactive guide and Camp Midnight will provide hilarious running commentary throughout the film. The screening of the film will be timed so that theatre patrons AND their celluloid counterparts will celebrate midnight at the EXACT SAME TIME. The screening will also feature original bonus material created by Hell in a Handbag Productions.

Admission includes a complimentary champagne toast, drink ticket, and party favors. Reserve your deck chair now! 70’s cruisewear preferred! The Music Box Theatre will remain open until 2am for post show festivities!

Tickets are $22 in advance and $27 at the door!

So get dem tix here and let's ring in the New Year together!

Let me know if there's something equally as fun as this. Screw getting locked in a lame bar for a few hours and hating your life.
