Caceres shines, Thomson calls it quits? UFC on Fox 10 Recap

Saturday night, the UFC made the United Center its home in Chicago for the night. Fans were treated to a very memorable fight between Alex "Bruce Leeroy" Caceres and Sergio Pettis, younger brother of current Lightweight champ Anthony Pettis.

It was a solid, standing back and forth striking battle. Pettis definitely dictated the pace of the fight and landed some incredibly impressive high kicks, but got caught and choked by Caceres late in the third.

The fight won "Fight of the Night" honors and Caceres also got "Submission of the Night."

Caceres/Pettis may have had more of a main event feel to it than the main event itself. Josh Thomson and Benson Henderson had a lot on the line, a title shot for Thomson with a win, and Henderson inching closer himself with a victory.

It was also a back and forth battle on the feet for the most part. Both fighters enjoyed their time in the spotlight, amping up the crowd in entertaining fashion. Henderson went on to win in a controversial decision.

Perhaps the biggest news of the night come from the press conference following the main card. News broke that Josh Thomson broke his hand during the 1st round of the fight and also said, "This might be it," regarding his fighting career.
