Since I was a little kid I always had some type of association with Christmas and the Chicago Blackhawks. Obviously the ice in hockey reminds everyone of snow and Winter time, but I also have fond memories of my dad taking me to games the day before or the day after Christmas. I also remember getting a Hawks white away jersey one year as a young lad on the holiday and a miniature Blackhawks hockey stick I caused a lot of chaos with. The last couple of years the Hawks have had fantastic giveaways near the holidays like scarves and santa hats. There's also one of my favorite events of the year the Blackhawks hold for season ticket holders where they rent out Winter Wonder Fest at Navy Pier and the players take pictures and sign autographs. I've been fortunate enough to attend Blackhawks Winter Wonder Fest last year and this year around the holidays and it's two of the best times I've ever had in my life (Pictured above myself and Blackhawks enforcer John Scott at Winter Wonder Fest Dec. 6th, 2011). Not only do you get to meet everybody's favorite players, but there are rides, refreshments, ice skating, and the decorations are beautiful.
This year for Christmas a viral video is sweeping the nation. The offical Blackhawks website released a clip titled "Season's Greetings from the Chicago Blackhawks" that showcases many Hawks players' vocal talents as they sing everyone's favorite Christmas carols with Blackhawk friendly lyrics (Watch above clip). It was relased as a teaser to tonight's (Christmas Eve's) episode of Blackhawks TV on Comcast. As you can see the video is hilarious and incredibly well thought out and put together. It's great to see the NHL's top team (48 pts) having fun and continuing to do something for their fans.

(Above, myself and Patrick Kane at this year's Winter Wonder Fest). Lastly, I'd like to share one of the most meaningful and touching gifts I've ever been given in my life. My Grandma, a Hawks fan to the core for many decades, gave me a Christmas gift that I will never forget. She made me a high quality quilt out of many of the Blackhawks rally towels we've acquired over the years. I can't put in to words how much this means to me. If you look closely you can see towels from home openers, regular season games, playoff games, and the Stanley Cup Finals. I can't believe I was lucky enough to be at most of those games as well and joined by my Grandma.

Merry Christmas everybody! And to the Blackhawks players and organization, thanks for all the hard work, thanks for all the fun, the memories, and for being good to the fans. I look forward to many, many more years of it all.
