Comedy at the Congress Theater

The Congress Theater, located in Bucktown (2135 N Milwaukee Ave), has made serious efforts to insure it will be a great venue to see groundbreaking comedy at.

Starting Thursday, October 28th at 7:30 PM, the Congress will run a couple live comedy shows a month.  These will not be your standard comedy shows; they are booking stand up comedy shows with multiple headliners that have TV and film credits, as well as featuring live podcast tapings in front of the audience.  Below are some of the upcoming comedy shows at the Congress Theater.

Bryan Callen

Thursday, October 28th 7:30 PM (doors at 6:30 PM): Neal Brennan (creator of the Chapelle Show, co-writer of Half Baked), Bryan Callen (Mad TV, the Hangover), and Dov Davidoff (Comedy Central, Chelsea Lately, the Tonight Show).

Thursday, November 11th 7:30 PM (doors at 6:30 PM): Tom Clark (Comedy Central, Last Comic Standing, the Late Late Show, the Closer) and Dan Cummins (Comedy Central, the Late Late Show, Last Comic Standing).

Thursday, December 9th 7:30 PM (doors at 6:30 pm): the "New York Takeover" show with some of New York's biggest comics.  Featuring: Jon Fisch (Comedy Central, Last Comic Standing, TBS LOL Lounge, Conan), Ted Alexandro (Comedy Central, Conan, Jimmy Kimmel, David Letterman), and Todd Barry (Conan, Comedy Central, Jimmy Kimmel, David Letterman, the Wrestler).  After the comics perform stand up, Jon Fisch will interview them as part of a live podcast taping for his show "In the Tank."  
Saturday, January 22nd 8:00 PM (doors at 7 PM): Jimmy Pardo (the Tonight Show, Comedy Central, Last Comic Standing, VH1, AMC), known for his insanely quick wit with improv and crowd work, will be taping a live episode of his popular comedy podcast "Never Not Funny," with special guests.
