Mulberry Child at Gene Siskel Center

If you haven't read Jian Ming's Mulberry Child, get your hands on it this week.  The book is an astounding memoir of Jian's childhood in China during the Cultural Revolution and her survival and transition into a U.S. citizen and mother of an acculturated Chinese American daughter.  The film hits the Gene Siskel Center Jan 21st http://www.siskelfilmcenter.org/mulberry-child.  I am proud to say that Jian Ming (aka Jennifer Kwong) is a dear and talented friend of mine and has been a writing mentor to me.

Check it out since we are lucky enough to have it here for a limited time!
