Are you worried about the US stock market reaching all new highs day after day? Are you frustrated with the build of your cash sitting on the sidelines? Well, we may have found a way to put a dent in that cash pile (via @mungerisms): you can now invest in your very own bronze bust of Warren Buffett's right hand man, Charlie Munger!
There are so many wonderful things about this charity auction...I'm not sure where to start:
- There were (at least) two of these made. So the sculptor did the first one and thought, 'Shit, this is good' and made another.
- In India, bust makers are ranked: "You are bidding on a beautiful bronze bust of Charlie Munger custom-made by one of India's top bust makers."
- "This bust was made to scale, i.e. the same size as Charlie's head."
- $1,600 price tag...but free shipping (not inclusive of taxes)!
If the bust was made to scale, does that mean Charlie sat for the initial sculpting? Would Charlie consider this an investment or purely goodwill? Does Charlie know his likeness is being auctioned? Do you think Warren is the current high bidder? What if Charlie is the highest bidder? How amazingly creepy would it be if Charlie won the auction and placed the bust of himself in the entryway of his home?
