In Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood, you can buy everything from Mexican arts and crafts to vintage clothes and fresh produce at several outdoor markets.
On Saturday, the Mercadito en el Zócalo will run from noon to 6 p.m. It will feature arts, crafts, music and food at 1815 S. Paulina St. The event has many sponsors including The Resurrection Project and the National Museum of Mexican Art.
I also will be in attendance selling my original photos from Mexico and arts and crafts. The mercadito also will be held again on August 3 and September 14, 2013.
On Sunday, Pilsen's Flea Market will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Peoria Street between 16th and 18th Streets. It features vintage items and is co-sponsored by Vintage on 18th and the Chicago Urban Arts Society. The flea market also will be held August 18 and September 15, 2013.
The Pilsen Community Market also runs Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1800 S. Halsted St. This local farmer's market runs every Sunday until October 7.
Come out to Pilsen this weekend for some culture and fun.
