Divinas: Tania Libertad and Eugenia Leon in Millennium Park

It may be a cool night by the lakefront. But a concert tonight by singers Tania Libertad and Eugenia Leon in Millennium Park is sure to heat things up.

Libertad is from Peru but has called Mexico her home for the last 30 years. She sings boleros to Afro-Peruvian and Mexican classics. I saw her perform in Guadalajara a few years ago and she was phenomenal.

Eugenia Leon is a cultural icon in Mexico. She started her career in Mexico City with the nueva cancíon and political songs that spoke to the concerns of youth and students. She has performed with many artists, including Lola Beltrán, Willie Colón, José José and Mercedes Sosa.

The concert is presented by the National Museum of Mexican Art at 6:30-10 p.m.
Millennium Park, 222 N. Columbus Drive, Chicago.
