Third place: Hawk Crazy: Top 8 Blackhawks Fights in Recent Years
Why: Great idea and great use of the gallery platform with video, but Scott's post really works because he uses the captions to provide valuable insight into why each fight made the list.

Third place: Ups and Downs of a Yoga Mom: A Letter to My Four Year Old
Why: What I really loved about Beth's was the honesty about how uncertain parenting is and the fear of making mistakes with your kids.

Third place: Living in Interesting Times: The American Woman and the Feminine Mystique
Why: This is a well-written and nicely constructed post but it thrives because Shirley simply has a wealth of knowledge to share.

Second place: Quips, Travails and Braised Oxtails: Sundays with Sparky: Céleri Rémoulade (Celeriac Salad)
Why: I haven't gone back to see how often a post about a recipe has made this list but not many have, if any. Why this one? Because it's funny, the presentation is terrific and by making the post simple and enjoyable to read it serves its main purpose: Communicating how to create and complete this dish.

First place: High Gloss and Sauce: A Love Story As Told In Bitstrips Cartoons
Why: Creative, funny, revealing, great headline and on a technical level Jenna expertly used the gallery format. Simply an awesome post.
