What we've been working on

We have been quiet for a couple of weeks.

The main reason is
that we've been talking with many of our bloggers offline. After this
post
played out on Windy Citizen, we decided to address the situation directly. Our bloggers gave us candid, helpful
feedback. We're already acting on a few of their ideas.

We've
also been busy rolling out the new design of our permalink pages.
Now the permalink pages feature a more robust right rail and
streamlined social media tools. There are still some bugs that our
developers are fixing as they find them. If you come across any bugs
yourself, please let us know via email at staff@chicagonow.com.

We are also finalizing the redesign of the sitewide navigation. Expect to see that by May.

Of
course, there are other developments that I can't talk about just yet.
While ChicagoNow is a network of blogs that values authenticity and
transparency, it is also a website that is owned by the Chicago Tribune
Media Group. We appreciate our community's patience and trust that we
will make the right decisions as our site grows.

We also
appreciate your love of having a good time. That's why we have monthly
tweetups. Join us for our next tweetup, which we are co-hosting with
ExploreChicago.org. It will be held Tuesday, March 23 from 6 to 9 p.m.
at Rockit Bar & Grill (22 W. Hubbard). Appetizers will be served and
there will be a cash bar. Please RSVP on our Facebook event page.

Hope to see you there.
