For the sixth straight time the Indiana Fever beat the Chicago Sky 65-57 in Saturday night's WNBA season opener.
The Chicago Sky came in the season with uncertain expectation and during the season opener they proved why.
The Sky could not make shots at the beginning of the game, and they could barley hold on to the ball long enough to create an opportunity to score. The Sky had a whopping 17 turnovers for the night and they shot just 35 percent.
The Sky got an 8-2 run going at the end of the first quarter just to come within four points; but the Fever put an end to that run during the third gaining a ten point lead.
Later in the fourth the Sky got within three going on another run late, however the Fever's Katie Douglas put that fire out scoring a three and making one of two free-throws. Just four of her 19 points and 7 rebounds on the night.
Perhaps the one bright spot in the Sky's season opener flank was Sky guard Epiphanny Prince; who drop 20 points which was the games best of the night.
The Sky's next game is against the Connecticut Suns who won their season opener against the Washington Mystics 89-73.
