Lockout Pushing NFL Players to MMA

As the NFL lockout continues, the migration of NFL players to MMA training seems to be increasing.  In addition to long-time adherents Clay Matthews and Jared Allen, all-pro tight end Mercedes Lewis has joined the fold.  Whether it is merely a method of staying in shape during the lockout, or perhaps a future career should the NFL lockout continue, the cross-appeal between the NFL and MMA is undeniable.

Let me first say, I am a huge football fan.  It has been my favorite sport for a long time.  But I must admit that seeing some of the NFL's better players in the cage would certainly make for good entertainment.  I sincerely hope the owners and players come together and realize they are shooting the golden goose, but if they do not, I'll be the first in line to purchase tickets for UFC 155 - Clay Matthews v. Mercedes Lewis.
