Today marks the sad beginning of a new era in Cheesehead nation. Brett Favre and his Vikings rolled over his former Green Bay Packers in convincing style before last night's national Monday Night Football audience. All over Wisconsin, the defeat was front page news. Some fans took to destroying a car. Except for the small corners of the state where city council votes and high school sports got better play than the loss, newspapers decried the arrival of a "Purple reign," "dealing with the sting of "Purple pain" and giving the battle, but not the war, to Favre.
