Life & style week in review

New this week
This week, we welcomed Marianna Swallow, Etiquette Bitch, to ChicagoNow's Life and Style section, so do stop over and give her a nice warn welcome. And check out her fun Friday feature: Flashback Friday, where she will be posting vintage etiquette films and text.

Lessons from Patrick Swayze
Sadly, we lost Patrick Swayze this week (here's the Swayzetaur, in case you missed it), and our Job Stalker wrote a lovely post about what his positive attitude meant to her. She also gave us a play-by-play of her experience at the Chicago Tribune Career Fair.

The Reeling lesbian film festival announced their November film live up and L-Blog's Trish Bendix brought some previews from the lineup. Oh, and speaking of film, Beyond the Pedway is back with another video short, this week profiling See3, an interactive agency for nonprofits.

Billy Dec and Candid Candace visited the Green City Market, Sarah Stegner chatted about cooking demos, while Mr. Brown Thumb discussed the new initiative at the 61st & Blackstone farmers' market to double the value of food stamps to encourage people to buy fresh, local produce.
