Life & Style Week in Review

New on ChicagoNow
Just this morning, we welcomed Beyond the Pedway to the ChicagoNow gang. This morning, Beyond the Pedway posted a video interview with ArtistData's founder Brenden Mulligan, and their previous video interviews with local creative professionals include an interview with SitterCity of our very own Adventures In Babysitting.

Quote of the week
By far, the stand-out blogger quote in my mind this week is from Janet Dahl, who, when discussing the reasons women have sex, wrote as a possibility, "to freak out the dog".

Oprah insanity!
Otherwise, the big news this week was Oprah's Michigan Ave. takeover. Catch my play-by-play summary of the day on Chicago Oprah Watch.

The DIY: crafts, travel and a note about apple season
Wee Windy City's Weekender report made mention of the Renegade Craft Fair,
which, I can tell you from personal experience, is very cool. I'll be
popping in this weekend. See and of you lovelies there? Speaking of
DIY, Love in the Time of Foreclosure shared the story of sort of DIY European adventure
which included long walks, wine, cheese and fruit.... ahhhh....I could
handle that. Oh, and speaking of fruit, Sarah Stegner dishes (har har,
pun way intended) on apple season.

Mark your calendars
This weekend is U2's mega-concert and Recession Busters gives the 411 on affordable U2 tickets. The Job Stalker is giving us some facetime at a couple of upcoming career events, both of which you should try to attend should you be in need of a career tweak.
