ChicagoNow bloggers remember Patrick Swayze

It's been a tough couple of months for celebrity deaths. Ed McMahon died and then, two days later on June 25th, Farah Fawcett
and Michael Jackson passed. Yesterday
evening, just days after September 11th, celebrity Patrick Swayze, who made his big debut in the 1987
film Dirty Dancing, died after his 20-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Our ChicagoNow bloggers were on top of the story as soon as it hit the web.

In her Kyles Files post, Kyra Kyles, RedEye's pop culture columnist, muses about Swayze's
"amazing dancing skill" and his "ability to be that everyman you root
for in film after film."

Fry Cook on Venus was quick to post under-five-minute YouTube clips of memorable Swayze film moments.

Some fans take their celebrity devotion one-step above, like this guy who got a Patrick Swayze tattoo, according to Life & Style Community Manager, Amy Guth. (Now how many Michael Jackson tattoos are there out there?)

Patrick Swayze's fight against cancer and Chicagoans' quest for employment both have thing in common, according to the Job StalkerNever give up.

Just last year, Chicago man about town, Billy Dec, interviewed Patrick Swayze on Access Hollywood. On his ChicagoNow blog, a Chicago Thing, he fondly remembers that night, and the deep talks they had about spirituality and life.

Anna Pulley of Sex and the Windy City shares Patrick's sexiest moments in her video tribute blog post of the dirty dancer.

To sum up the pop culture loss, CLTV host Garrard McClendon asks Chicagoans to share their Swayze memories on his blog.

Patrick Swayze, Chicago will miss you.
