ChicagoNow bloggers remember Patrick Swayze

It's been a tough couple of months for celebrity deaths. Ed McMahon died and then, two days later on June 25th, Farah Fawcett
and Michael Jackson passed. Yesterday
evening, just days after September 11th, celebrity Patrick Swayze, who made his big debut in the 1987
film Dirty Dancing, died after his 20-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

In her Kyles Files post, Kyra Kyles, RedEye's pop culture columnist, muses about Swayze's
"amazing dancing skill" and his "ability to be that everyman you root
for in film after film."

Fry Cook on Venus was quick to post under-five-minute YouTube clips of memorable Swayze film moments.
