Brother's Keeper film debut review

Brother's Keeper film debut review

About The Film

BROTHER’S KEEPER takes moviegoers on an incredible journey through rural Georgia in the 1950s: from Main Street to the State Penitentiary… from young love to a heinous crime of passion… from counterfeit justice to forgiveness forged through pain… from God’s mercy to the ultimate sacrifice.

The first feature film from Desert Winds Films, BROTHER’S KEEPER is co-directed by Josh Mills and TJ Amato and stars real life twins Alex and Graham Miller as Pete and Andy. The cast also includes Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy), MacKenzie Mauzy (Into the Woods), Daniel Samonas (Wizards of Waverly Place), W. Earl Brown (Chicago Fire), Ray Wise (Mad Men), Robyn Lively (Letters to God), Noell Coet and award-winning country music singer Travis Tritt.

Friday evening May 29th, we attended this movie debut. WOW, was our reaction after viewing this production. I was without words after viewing it. It took a half hour to begin to process what I had just saw. You know its a good movie if you discuss the impact of the film for several hours after viewing it. It has been a long time since there has been a film that has sucked me in as this film has. It ran 2 hours, yet I didn’t realize it. I was into the story with the opening scene up till the closing credits. It took me on a roller coaster of emotions and dropped me off at the forgiveness platform. Amazing production, well written, directed, produced, excellent character development and plot twists. There were a few minor issues I noticed, yet they did not detract from the films flow or focus. I think with the experienced cast of actors it added to the quality of this production. I think this film had almost everything you could have wanted.

Speaking with a group of high school teens after they had viewed the film, it was clear they were emotionally moved and yet eager to give the film rave reviews of its plot twists, and great message of forgiveness.

Here is a quote of what others are saying

“Brother’s Keeper has literally has rocked my world.”

“This is a MUST SEE movie. No one can watch this movie and not be affected to think, reflect, and respond to it.”
-Boaz High School Student Leaders 2013 – Zeb Walker, Riley Young, Madison Boudin and Wesley Burns

“Brother’s Keeper is a powerful story of both grace and forgiveness. This movie that has the potential to bring great Revival to the teens and adults of Boaz, Alabama.”
– Dr. Mark Isley – Superintendent Boaz High School – Boaz, Alabama

“WOW. We took 52 football players on a retreat in which we incorporated your movie Brother’s Keeper. After the movie was over I said a few words and then left an open microphone to any player that wanted to come up and share on who they would like to forgive or ask for forgiveness. Many young men stood up in front of the whole team and shared their heartaches of their lost fathers, and of other terrible incidents in their lives. Each of them forgave whoever it was who had hurt them. Many referenced Brother’s Keeper and how it impacted them into standing up and seeking forgiveness. Thanks for making an impact on so many as it is extremely hard to give or accept forgiveness.”
- Don Beebe – Member of the Super Bowl XXXI Champion Green Bay Packers – Head Football Coach Aurora Christian High School

We give this film 5 ticket review and look forward to watching it again.
