Salt Creek Ballet – Nutcracker performance in Skokie

As the Salt Creek Ballet celebrates its 30th anniversary, they performed The Nutcracker at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie on December 13, 2014.

A few quote about Salt Creek Ballet.

Salt Creek Ballet has performed for more than 230,000 people in and around Chicagoland since its founding, while earning a national reputation for excellence in dance. Founded by Patricia and Gary Sigurdson in 1985 and directed since 1988 by Sergey Kozadayev and Zhanna Dubrovskaya, the company is dedicated to presenting professional-quality dance performances, to providing high-level performing opportunities for area dancers and to encouraging the appreciation and awareness of dance in the community.

Salt Creek Ballet will celebrate its thirtieth year with a history of critically acclaimed performance for tens of thousands of viewers. Its annual The Nutcracker is a major holiday event in Hinsdale, University Park and Skokie. As a member of the Regional Dance America, Salt Creek Ballet appears in different cities at the Mid-State Regional Festival each year. Repertory includes traditional classical works plus original ballet and jazz works by both resident and guest choreographers.

Salt Creek Ballet dancers are pre-professionals drawn from the best Chicago area talent. Nationally known guest artists, choreographers and designers regularly work with Sault Creek Ballet to provide dancers and audiences alike with a level of performance usually associated with top professional companies.

I, for one have said many times in the past about how the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie is a top-notch center for performance. Well this was no exception. The outstanding costume and set design, and the professional performance of this troop is a must see.
