Celtic Woman "Home for Christmas" concert

Saturday evening was the first of a two night performance for the Celtic Woman, held at North Central College Pfeiffer Hall in Naperville, IL.

Irish music sensation Celtic Woman celebrate the holiday season with "Home for Christmas - The Symphony Tour." These concerts offer an unparalleled musical experience with Celtic Women performing timeless holiday songs accompanied by a full symphony orchestra. Featuring music from the all-female music ensemble's second Christmas album "Home For Christmas" and the brand new live concert DVD "Home For Christmas: Live from Dublin," Celtic Woman promises an enchanting and festive evening filled with mesmerizing music, performance and holiday cheer.

Since their 2005 American debut on Public Broadcasting Service, Celtic Woman has emerged as both a spectacular commercial success and a genuine cultural phenomenon, touching the hearts of a devoted fan base that spans the globe. The multitalented ensemble has released nine albums and eight DVDs, selling more than 9 million copies of it release around the world, achieving platinum-level sales in nine countries, and performing for nearly 3 million fans.

Celtic Woman has won a particularly passionate audience in America, where their visually stunning concert tours consistently draw sellout crowds. The group has performed twice at the White House and made high-profile appearances on such television shows as "Dancing with the Stars' and the daytime drama "The Bold and the Beautiful." - quote from North Central College program guide

This performance was as described above. Stunning, breathtaking and a beautiful evening.

The Celtic Woman, joined by a 50+ piece orchestra from the Chicago area, as well as several members of the groups band.

They performed many Christmas favorites such as Silent Night, Little Drummer Boy, I'll Be home for Christmas, Sleigh Ride, and others during the 2 hour show. They performed many songs that attendees could clap along with. Ended the night with a chance for the crowd to sing along to "O Come all you Faithful. This capacity crowd of over 1000 gave this ensemble a standing ovation.

This Irishman is happy to give this a five guitar rating and look forward to seeing these ladies again in the future.
