Today I had the honor of covering the Chicago Blaze Rugby Club double match saturday at their home field in Lemont, IL.
This is the first time I have actually seen organized Rugby being played, so I was given a crash course by my friend Vincent Johnson (a fellow photog).
The division two Chicago Blaze team pulled off a 36 to 29 win against the St. Paul Jazz Pigs.
The division four Chicago Blaze team fought hard put were unable to regain the lead and lost 27 to 33 against the Chicago Dragons.
Watching this for the first time, gave me a new respect for the payers and the game. It is such a non-stop physically demanding sport, that watching NFL football is going to seem like mere kids stuff.
If you ever have a chance to watch a Rugby match be it the Chicago Blaze or Dragons, I for one guarantee you 80 mins of action packed hits, kicks, tackles and running you may have never seen before.
I give the Chicago Blaze Rugby Club a well earned, hard player two thumbs up.
Great job guys!
I'll give this event 5 Tickets!
