Warmer in the sun, cooler by the lake

As you can see from the groovy graphic above, warmer days are on the way!  How does 70's on Saturday sound?   Yes, even as I write this, it is feeling quite like spring in the sun. The signs of the season are all around us--

robins

daffodils

yellow forsythia blooming

new green leaves

red shoots of the peonies

magnolias blooming

buds on the branches

baseball on the radio

hockey playoffs begin

sunflower seeds  and basil seeds on sale at Walgreens

also summer shoes

asparagus in  the produce section

strawberries

bees

violets

dandelions!

Soon, the carpenters will be everywhere. There will be the sounds of hammering. There will be roofers and housepainters.

People will do more things outside. The short and oh so sweet al fresco season begins. You can read more about it here.

The last frost dates for this area are in May, but the really cautious may wait until Memorial Day weekend to plant those tomatoes.

And  keep  a sweater or a hoodie  around, because it's chilly in the shade,  and temperatures  can be 10-20 degrees cooler by the lake...
