The Blackhawks snapped a nine game losing streak tonight by defeating the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.
The streak itself was frightening, bothersome, tension-filled, saddening...one of the more bewildered times I've had as a fan in the Post-Bill Wirtz era.
Now that it's over, I want to share with the world how I deal with a Blackhawks losing streak. These five videos usually do the trick. So, the next time the Hawks encounter a stretch around 4-5 games...just pop these in. You'll feel better.
1) Stu Grimson completely loses his mind against Toronto. "This is a man gone mad!" One of my favorite quotes by an announcer...ever.
2) What gets better than Troy Murray leading the Blackhawks to the playoffs on the final day of the 1989 season? This overtime goal was the start of a miraculous playoff run that ended in the conference finals. Amazing for a 27-41-12 club.
3) Denis Savard moves always help...like chicken soup when you're sick
4) My favorite Blackhawks game ever...Game 6 of the 2009 Western Conference Finals. Up 3-1, Down 4-3, Tied, Down 5-4, Then the tie, the lead, and then the craziest the United Center has EVER gotten. Pure bedlam on Kane's clincher/hat trick.
5) Oh, yeah...and then there's this...never forget:
