I was really looking forward to Illinois-Northwestern tomorrow afternoon.
Now, it's going to look more like a video game. The game will always be facing the same direction. Excitement.
The Cubs' infield is going to get torn to shreds now that all of the action will be one portion. The Cubs can't do anything right even when they don't play.
Overall, it should be fun.
Oh, yeah, and our beloved Chicago Bears are 7-3...that's good enough for me to forget about the ridiculous Blackhawks, right now. The wifey is running a craft fair, this weekend...time for some super football watching.
Here's last weeks stats:
Last Week: 1-2
Last Week: 2-1
My goal? Just get to .500. That's why God created the spread...so we come out even.
Here's my picks of the week:
Northern Illinois at Ball State (+14 1/2)
Teams coming off their biggest wins of the seasons typically have let downs the next week...especially if they're going on the road against a weaker opponent. The Cardinals are playing better, winners of two straight. I've got NIU to win, but the Cards to tighten it up. Northern Illinois 31, Ball State 24
Utah (-2) at San Diego State
The Aztecs played TCU tough, and now get the Utes at home. I still think that losing back to back weeks against sub par competition is out of the question. Utah 27, SDSU 23
Notre Dame vs. Army (U 49 1/2)
I looked at taking the over for the longest time...ND and Army's defenses aren't the best. But this game is being played in a new environment. I'm weird. No rationale. Just a hunch. Notre Dame 27, Army 26
Green Bay at Minnesota (U 44)
Not even hesitating on this one. Rice is going to play this week. It's a last ditch effort for the offense against a banged up Green Bay defense. Minnesota 31, Green Bay 28 (OT)
Baltimore (-11) at Carolina
This line is suspiciously low for a new quarterback playing one of the better defenses in the league. Baltimore 24, Carolina 7
Washington at Tennessee (-7)
I like a Jeff Fisher team against a befuddled Washington squad. Tennessee 20, Washington 10
