I got my egg roll but more than I bargained for

Well the good news is, I finally got an egg roll. A good friend of mine went to Imperial Gardens in Middleton and brought me one shrimp egg roll and one chicken egg roll. Both were equally delicious...and fattening :)

Thanks to every one of you for your good wishes and kindness.

I left the nursing home yesterday and am trying to adjust to civilian life so to speak. That includes freedom of movement, doing some of my own thinking and having my family help me. I never realized how important family life is until it’s almost taken from you.

My brain tumor was removed but I have decided not to take any additional therapy. The side effects would render me in worse condition than I am now which includes weakness and depression.

I was told that if I go through the therapy I may lose brain function and possibly not even recognize my family. I don’t want to go through that. I have a glioblastoma multiforme, and a type that does not typically respond to therapy.

This is my third year of blogging on this site. It has been a Godsend to me because it’s given me an opportunity to remember Chicago as it was and as it is. It has enriched my life by giving me a purpose since I lost my wife.

Now I’m in a stage of recovery. I look forward to writing these blogs for therapy.

Memories light the corners of my mind if I have a mind left :) And many happy thoughts to you.
