If you purchased a Microsoft Surface last year. The upgraded version was released this past Monday. So you might be asking yourself so what does the new version of the Surface have that the original does not? Well let me tell you. First off it has a 25% better battery life, a better processor called the Tegra 4, a 1920 x 1080 resolution.
Also it is thinner and lighter in weight compared to the Surface RT. It also has the kickstand that was on the original and instead of having USB 2.0 ports, it now features USB 3.0 the new upgraded USB that is faster than 2.0 and also includes Microsoft Office on the Surface including Outlook.
The new processor called the Intel Haswell processor for the Surface Pro 2 boosts graphics by a whopping 50 percent, and 75% better battery life. Overall the performance of the Surface Pro 2 is 20% better than the first generation device. Has 8GB worth of memory that would be double than the original.
The Surface 2 is priced at $449 to compete with the iPad. Then Surface Pro 2 is priced at $899 to compete with the Macbook Air. Microsoft has no plans to offer the Surface RT for a lower price. So if you thought you might now be able to get your hands on one. You might have luck going on Ebay and getting it.
