It's finally here, Chicago Zine Fest, and kicks off tonight with a "Zine Reading" at Quimby's. As we move closer a digital publishing age there still an incredible undercurrent of talent artists and writers creating something real and tangible... the zine. If you thought the book had been challenged by the e-book that is nothing compared to the blog or e-zines dominance over the printed zine. However, the moment you step into Quimby's you know the zine is alive and well in Chicago. All weekend there are events, workshops, and reading that are all free and all intended to celebrate the art of the zine.
