When you go to the website for the book seller Women & Children First the slogan reads "Shop as Independently as You Think". It's a motto to live by and applies not just to books but to everything you purchase. So, with that spirit is mind we will check in with this local seller each week to find out what books have been leaving their independent shelves. I sought the help of local writer and Women & Children First employee Jac Jemc, and here are the results.
1. Let the Great World Spin - Colum McCann
2. Stones Into Schools - Greg Mortenson
3. Lacuna - Barbara Kingsolver
4. Too Much Happiness - Alice Munro
5. Year of the Flood - Margaret Atwood
