Andrew Brunette and Daniel Carcillo, Hawks new acquisitions, were officially introduced to the media today. Brunette, LW 6'1" 210lbs 37yrs old, said he chose the Hawks because of their reputation, heritage, and feels they have a great shot at another cup. Brunette, who played his last three seasons with the Minnesota Wild, looks forward to making the post season and contending for a cup. Brunette joked that he has never been fast so you can't really lose a step. Brunette is excited to play for Joel Quennville again. Brunette has been a durable player over his career only missing three games last season. In 2010-2011 Andrew Brunette had 46 total points (18 goals 28 assists).
Daniel Carcillo, LW 6'0" 205lbs 26yrs old, is best remembered by Hawks fans as a irritation from the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals against the Flyers. Carcillo is a physical and emotional player who will bring a grit and enforcer to the Hawks. Carcillo had 4 goals 2 assists and 127 PIM last season. Carcillo knows that many Hawks fans have mixed emotions on his signing. Carcillo said he's never been liked, but hopes his play and toughness will speak for itself. Carcillo, nicknamed the "Car Bomb", was asked if he was excited to play the Vancouver Canucks. Carcillo may have gained some popularity with Hawks fans with his response. Carcillo said he looks forward to playing Vancouver and specifically called out Max Lapierre, Tanner Glass, and Raffe Torres as playing "out of their shoes last year". Carcillo feels his presence will bring the Canucks "tough guys" back down to Earth. Carcillo will have his shot at Lapierre when they play Vancouver. However, he will have to wait till Winneapeg and Phoenix for the other two individuals who moved teams in the off-season.
Andrew Brunette will wear No.15. Dan Carcillo will wear No.13.
