Pat Hughes will be part of new Cubs Media Rights Package (Update)

Pat Hughes will be part of new Cubs Media Rights Package (Update)
Pat Hughes has a voice that is so beautiful, he could be talking for three hours about aluminum siding, and I'd be captivated the whole time. You don't have to like Chicago Cubs baseball to enjoy the work of Pat Hughes. Which is fitting I guess because the Cubs, the 4th most valuable brand in Major League Baseball, are the team of choice for so many people who don't actually like baseball and don't actually care about watching the games. Yesterday, at the second day of Cubs Convention, when discussing a possible move from WGN radio, Cubs President of Baseball Operations Crane Kenney said Pat Hughes "is coming with us." Cubs and City to Announce Renovation Deal; Ricketts does Media Circuit
It’s the Cubs home opener! Baseball opening day is always a wonderful experience for tourists, bandwagon types and raging alcoholics. Maybe when the ink dries they still will. The hold-up now is with Mayor Rahm Emanuel; Ricketts is waiting for Rahm to be ready so both he and Ricketts can make the announcement together. And knowing what I know about MLB and their history with issuing press releases- we'll get the official word from the baseball club about 2 days after the news is published at every major outlet. There is a huge public relations battle being fought right now between the Wrigleyville rooftop owners and the Chicago Cubs. In their last press release, the rooftops association looked desperate and defensive. It wasn't just Cubs chairman Tom Ricketts making the media rounds today. A few members of the Ricketts family did the local media circuit. I just embedded the tweets, because the links are there if you want to watch/listen to the Ricketts get their message out there. Basically, the Ricketts family was to Chicago media this morning what the Plumlee family is to Duke basketball- you can’t escape them...
