Yes Network reporter Sarah Kustok
is back in her hometown of Orland Park, Illinois today. She will be at the courthouse in Bridgeview Thursday morning as the state of Illinois' case against her father, Allan Kustok
continues. He is on trial for murdering his wife Jeanie Kustok; Sarah's mother
Sarah Kustok is a current Brooklyn Nets television presenter formerly of Comcast SportsNet Chicago. She has been subpoenaed by the court and will testify
on behalf of her father's defense. Sarah was back in Chicago when jury selection began in the murder case against her father, but in between the start of the trial and her testimony, she flew back to New York and resumed her duties with the Brooklyn NBA team.
This past Saturday, Sarah Kustok even called the women's game between DePaul and Marquette on Fox Sports 1. It's amazing and extremely commendable that she can focus on work at an extremely trying time such as this...
was a popular television personality (and search engine gold) at Comcast SportsNet Chicago since she started with the station in 2009. She was also big on NBC's local "Sports Sunday." However, she left for the YES Network in New York, where she is now c
overing Deron Williams and the Brooklyn Nets.
A.J. Pierzynski of the White Sox gave her a cream pie send off her final night here in August
Last night she returned to her hometown to cover the Chicago Bulls
vs. Brooklyn Nets game. Sarah Kustok is from suburban Orland Park and attended Sandburg high school, just like Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald (GO EAGLES!) Actually, I went to district 230 rival Stagg, Go Chargers! At the Bulls game, she did a video interview with CSN Chicago's Luke Stuckmeyer which you can watch after the jump...
It was an extremely eventful year for Chicago sportscasters. Jim Deshaies replaced Bob Brenly
in the booth for Cubs broadcasts after Brenly left to take the Arizona Diamondbacks job.
Sarah Kustok left Comcast Sports Net Chicago for Yes Network
. She was replaced by Susanna Collins
. White Sox colorman Hawk Harrelson continued to be an intolerable abomination to broadcasting.
What follows is a list of 5 memorable moments that involved all these tv personalities...
, a popular television star at Comcast Sports Net Chicago since 2009, has moved on to the YES Network in New York. But she was back in Chicago last Wednesday to be inducted into the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame at Hawthorne Race Course in Cicero.
The extremely photogenic former Blackhawks
reporter joined 19 other inductees including Green Bay Packers
legend Paul Hornung, Chicago Bears
linebacker Otis Wilson and Bo Jackson. Kustok is the 4th best career three-point shooter in DePaul

UPDATE 5-3-13: Susannah is fired by Comcast SportsNet. This link explains why I believe the Blackhawks themselves had more to do with her dismissal than CSN!!!
Comcast Sports Net officially announced the full-time hire of anchor/reporter Susannah Collins
as its newest on-air talent member (effective September 20). Collins will handle on-site, post-game reporting duties throughout the year at home games for all four of CSN’s pro team partners and anchor their flagship program SportsNite. In other words, she’s the replacement for Sarah Kustok
In addition, Susannah Collins will frequently host viewer interactive studio segments on the network’s post-game shows, along with a variety of online segments to be showcased on CSNChicago.com
. You can follow Susannah Collins on Twitter @SusannahCollins
. The announcement was made by Charlie Schumacher, Senior News Director for Comcast SportsNet Chicago.
“We are very pleased to bring someone of Susannah’s experience and local sports enthusiasm to our network on a full-time basis,” said Schumacher.
Susannah became an internet superstar for a few days thanks to Mr. T (watch here to see why)
Chicago White Sox
catcher A.J. Pierzynski
gave Sarah Kustok
from Comcast Sports Net a proper send-off last night. In the middle of her doing her final interview for the station (Sox outfielder Alex Rios) Kustok got a cream pie to the face from the Sox most controversial player.
It was an exciting follow up to an 8-6 White Sox
win over the L.A. Angels in 10 innings. Sarah Kustok
got a new job out of market
, which has not officially been announced yet...
(Update: according to the Facebook page of WBEZ reporter Cheryl Rae-Stout
, she's rumored to be heading to New York!)
You’ve seen her on Comcast Sports Net Chicago
for three years. And for the last few months, you’ve seen her on NBC 5 Chicago
on Friday and Sunday nights. Well, no more- as sportscaster Sarah Kustok
is leaving the Chicago market.Word of her new job has not been released at this time, but we do know that her last day at CSN will be August 3rd.
Kustok’s people are mum on the new gig because it appears the ink is still drying. The Orland Park, IL and Carl Sandburg graduate has quite a following. She had a crazed Blackhawks
fan tell her “I love you Sarah, you’re so pretty” live
during a shoot the puck competition.
And she developed nearly 3,000 Twitter followers literally overnight
It’s not often that an individual joining Twitter is news-worthy, but when that individual obtains about 3,000 followers in just three days, it’s more than worthy of some online media attention. Such is the case with Comcast Sports Net Chicago’s Sarah Kustok (you’ve seen her on NBC 5 Sports Sunday too). Kustok (@sarahkustok) made her... Read more »
