Illinois basketball won't be ranked again any time soon. They responded to being nationally ranked by getting DESTROYED at Wisconsin by 25 points, and then failing to play offense for 3/4 of a game that will go down as one of the worst losses in Illinois basketball history. It's certainly the worst loss of the John Groce era, and among the worst of 2010s Illinois basketball.
Conversely, it's the biggest win of the very very brief Chris Collins era at Northwestern. You wouldn't think a team with records and statistics that bad would actually beat a ranked team this year. But hey, this is Illinois basketball. Time to talk CBI and NIT, because 2013-14 Illinois basketball just suffered a tournament resume black eye from which they won't likely recover.
Here's some Illinois basketball fans and journalists and sports pundits reacting to the biggest win Collins has accomplished, and the death knell for the '13-14 Illinois basketball season

superstar Derrick Rose,
a former Simeon Wolverine. Other Wolverines who went on to play at the college level include Nick Anderson, Bryant Notree, Ervin Small and Calvin Brock.
is most likely to be one-and-done guy to the NBA

We have him going third overall in our 2014 NBA Mock Draft.

-Remember, how your bracket is doing is the most interesting thing in the world to you, and it's the least interesting thing in the world to the rest of us. So when you tweet about it, we care about as much as we care about your fantasy football team.
-The stars at night, (Tracy Abrams, D.J. Richardson
, and Brandon Paul,
had 44 of 57 Illini
points in the tournament win), were big and bright, clap-clap-clap, deep in the heart of Texas. But they said at Thursday’s media
session that the team has had no chance to take in any local tourism. They have not seen the sights of America’s 13th largest city and Texas state capitol. The NCAA Tournament is a business trip, not a vacation after all.
However, they did go to Vince Young’s steakhouse. And VY himself was in the house...

Well, the professional leagues have their own IRRITATING chants, sayings, and other assorted gibberish. Except these are a million times more IRRITATING!!!!! Because they’re even more OVERPLAYED than... Read more »
