Chicago White Sox, Cubs legends playing in 670 The Score Charity Game

WSCR-670 The Score and CBS Radio Chicago will be hosting the First Annual Larry A. Pogofsky Chicago All-Star Softball Challenge on Saturday. The game features Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox legends, including Frank Thomas, Ozzie Guillen, and Derek Lee. MLB All-Star Jamie Moyer will be pitching too. And it’s all for a good cause, as the proceeds will benefit Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox charities.

Prior to the game, which begins at 4pm, young fans will have the chance to take part in an on-field clinic hosted by the Bulls/Sox Academy. Starting at 2:30, kids will have the opportunity to experience the true nature of baseball, consisting of base running, batting, and fielding drills.

The game will be held at Boomers Stadium in Schaumburg, Illinois. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $50 for a VIP admission, which includes priority seating, a premium item, and access into the post event VIP barbeque

This event is the brain child and inspiration of Ben Pogofsky.

“The LAP all-star challenge was an idea that I have been working on since my father’s unexpected passing in December of 2010. My father was on the board of directors with the Chicago White Sox, so I had some amazing opportunities meeting players and going to baseball games and those memories helped give my family and I strength during that difficult time,” Ben said.

“It was because of that legacy that I thought of this event and wanted to help other children and families create memories similar to those that I was fortunate to enjoy with my father. To me, baseball is not only about wins and losses, but it's more about the legacy that these players are creating for fans across the world,” Pogofsky said.

Visit lapallstarchallenge.com for tickets. Proceeds benefit Chicago White Sox Charities, Cubs Charities, and Special Kids Network. 670 The Score WSCR is the No. 1-rated station of its kind in Chicago. WSCR is owned and operated by CBS Radio, a division of CBS Corporation.

"It's been the most rewarding experience seeing the warm response that I have received from our sponsors , our players and more importantly our many of fans that will be in attendance on Saturday!" said Ben Pogofsky.
