Chicago Fire jersey design is very interactive

The Chicago Fire announced today the final three designs for the #cf97ThirdKit design contest. The club is asking Fire supporters to submit designs for the jersey the Chicago Fire plans to unveil at the club’s Anniversary game in 2014.

How cools is this? Imagine if a NFL or NBA team actually did something as interactive as this? Hard to fathom, but this is one of the more fan-friendly and interesting features of the MLS.

The Chicago Fire club, along with Quaker Oats, their jersey sponsor and major corporate partner, selected the five best entries, which through a fan vote on Chicago Fire .com were narrowed down to three.

Final round of voting on the top three designs, found here, and it will run until Friday, Sept. 20, right before midnight.

Fans can vote at Chicago Fire .com up to ten times per e-mail address per day. Like we say here in Chicago "vote early, vote often."

I like the one on the right with the Chicago skyline, it's pretty sweet.

However, the one in the middle, the powder blue with the four stars evoking the city flag, is my favorite. That one rocks. I want one of those. The winning designer will also receive round trip airfare and accommodations for two to attend the Chicago Fire match against the Portland Timbers in 2014. All five selected designers from the finalist round will receive two tickets to sit in the Chicago Fire’s Second Star Club for a Fire match.Full #cf97ThirdKit rules and regulations can be found here.

The Chicago Fire (10-11-5, 35 points) take on Toronto FC Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 6:30 (My50/La Ley 107.9) before returning home to welcome the New England Revolution (10-10-7, 37 points) Saturday, Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m. (My50/La Ley 107.9).
