Alumni Bars in Chicago to Watch the NCAA Tournament Elite 8
Dayton fans and alums are excited to compete in their first Elite Eight since 1984.

It seems like everyone is a college basketball fan in March. We all love to connect to our youth and the many Alma matters that reside in the Chicago area. For the fans and alums of the eight teams advancing to the NCAA Regional Finals this year, connecting with fellow alums can enhance the experience of watching the big dance. Here is where you can gather for the Elite Eight with other fans of your team in Chicago.

1) Florida vs. 11) Dayton, South Regional Final, Saturday 5:09pm CT TBS. 

Florida-Sully's House- 1501 N. Dayton, Chicago

The Gators magical season continues against Dayton's magical NCAA Tournament run. Florida is making its fourth consecutive trip to the Elite Eight. They have lost the last three and not made it to the Final Four since 2007. Dayton is making its first Elite Eight appearance since 1984 and seeking its first Final Four since 1967. According to the Windy City Gator Twitter Account (@WindyCityGators) and Facebook page, the Windy City Gators meet at Sully's House, ironically at 1501 N. Dayton in Lincoln Park off of Weed Street.

Dayton- Glascott's 2158 N. Halsted. The Flyer Faithful gather at Glascott in the heart of Lincoln Park and a mere few blocks from fellow catholic school DePaul. They have had a strong turnout during the NCAA Tournament according to DNAInfoChicago.Com. Interviewed by DNA's Justin Breen, UD Chicago Alumni President Kristen Dennison said "Glascott's has showcased a campus-like atmosphere." Breen said Glascott's serves the popular UD Drink called the Wall. No mention if it has anything to do with Pink Floyd.

1) Arizona vs 2) Wisconsin West Regional Final 7:49 pm CT TBS

Arizona Finley Dunne's 3458 N. Lincoln, Chicago Although nearly 2000 miles from Campus, Arizona has a strong alumni base in the Chicago area. The Windy Cats have been meeting at various Bars in Chicago consistently since the late 1990's. The Wildcats are currently headquartered at Finley Dunne's. FD's is the former home of Dayton and is also currently the home of the University of Louisville as well. Finley Dunne's website doesn't specify if they will have and specials for Saturday's night's Elite Eight. According to the FD Twitter Account (@FinleyDunnesBar) Sweet 16 Specials were $5 Walls, $15 Tucson Trashcans, $12 Pitchers, & $5 Fireball. Chili is a specialty there, they have a Chili Cookoff coming on April 13.

Wisconsin 

With 24,000 alums in the Chicago area, Wisconsin has a plethora of Chicago Bars to watch the game. The list per the Wisconsin Alumni Association-Chicago Chapter is below. Will's Northwood Tap is notorious for hosting any Wisconsin area Sports and is also a huge Packers Bar.

UConn

The UConn Alumni Association-Chicago Chapter has had game watches this year at a few establishments according to their facebook page. Their latest was the Sweet 16 game at Jake Melnick's Corner Tap (41 E. Superior) near the Magnificent Mile. Other UConn hubs  are Waterhouse Tavern and Grill (3407 N. Paulina) and Piece (1923 W. North Ave., Chicago).

Michigan State

Michigan State's alumni club, The Chicago Spartans list four host bars for their watch parties. Per Chicago Spartans here's the list.

Michigan vs. Kentucky, Midwest Regional Final Sunday 4:05 CT, TBS

Michigan

As a Big Ten school, Michigan has a sizable alumni base in Chicago. Because of that Alumni base, the Wolverines have numerous bars in Chicago. The University of Michigan Club of Greater Chicago Lists two official sponsor bars. Those are the Rockit Bar and Grill ( (22 W. Hubbard, Chicago) and Rockit Burger Bar (3700 N. Clark).  Many other Bars have hosted Michigan in the past. The only other Bar that officially lists Michigan on their facebook and home pages is Duffy's at 420 W. Diversey in Chicago.

Kentucky 

All Kentucky watch parties sponsored by the Kentucky  Chicago Alumni association are at the Pony, 1638 W. Belmont in Chicago. Their couldn't be a more appropriate name for a Alumni bar for UK. They offer UK drink specials and have events for Kentucky alums throughout the year for game watches, trivia events and other special events.
