It's hard to believe
The Cubs were losing eight-zip
But came back to win
Matt Garza gave up six straight hits without retiring anyone in the bottom of the third, as the Nationals took what seemed to be an insurmountable 7-0 lead. They added another in the fourth before the Cubs began their comeback.
But the Cubs scored six times in the top of the 6th inning, including a 2-RBI double from Darwin Barney and a 3-run home run by Blake DeWitt, closing the gap to just 2 runs. A 2-run homer by Carlos Pena in the 7th tied the game, but the roller coaster ride wasn't quite over.
The Cubs scored in the eighth to take a 1 run lead, but the Nats tied it in the bottom of the inning. But the Cubs scored again in the top of the ninth to take the lead again. Carlos Marmol hit the first batter in the bottom of the ninth, and a wild pitch put the tie run at third with just one out, but the closer managed to get the last two outs for a great comeback win to end the Cubs latest losing streak at three games.
