Aaron Miles In Haiku: Why Do Cubs Fan Hate Him?

Chicago Cubs vs St. Louis Cardinals

This is how Julie likes to see Aaron Miles

Seems like most Cubs fan
Really don't like Aaron Miles
Tell us how you feel.

Whenever Aaron Miles is playing, Twitter becomes an orgy of hate.  Here are a few of good examples from today's game, which Miles started at shortstop for an ailing Ryan Theriot:

@Aisle424: Aaron Miles could make things interesting by getting on here.... ha ha ha ha ha ha... almost made it all the way through that

@rpringle: Aaron Miles once threw himself out at first

@Adambuckled: Aaron Miles once grounded into a quadruple play

@aleagueofherown I liked him playing for the Cards

@blicdh: Aaron Miles once got the shit beat out of him by the gatorade machine.

@TweetsByDina: Miles was once called on / to bunt for a suicide / squeeze and missed ... oh wait

Add your anti-Miles comment.  It doesn't have to be in haiku, but try to keep it within Twitter's 140 character limit so it's at least a bit of a challenge.  I suppose we can accept pro-Miles comments, if you're so inclined - but they'd better be good.

  • I don't hate Aaron. / I just wish Hendry wised up / And sent him packing.

    Then should I have asked
Why we don't like Aaron Miles
    In a Cubs jersey?

  • In reply to EdNickow:

/haiku . . . Some people might really hate him, I don't know. But I do hate the fact that he's on the Cubs, yeah. It is really simple, as Dina says: he hasn't played well at all this year. The expectation of his best isn't good enough to hang on to him. They have him because the Cardinals released him. He's worth more to the Cubs off the team.

I feel bad for him that he's playing so poorly, and it's almost doing him a favor to put him out of his misery and release him.

The anger is really toward Hendry. It wasn't dumb to sign him so much as it's idiotic to keep him.

  • In reply to AndCounting:

We saw Hendry walking - alone, with his head down - at yesterday's game ... er, yesterday's "rain" out. I think he was hoping nobody would notice him. We didn't realize who it was until he had passed.

Things look ok so far tonight, but if the season ends as many of us fear it will, the biggest boos at the next Cubs Convention may very well be for Hendry.

    If he's still GM.

Maybe that should be Ricketts' first move.

  • In reply to AndCounting:

    1. 2009 season: 56 games. 26 hits. 5 RBI. 18K. .183 BA.
    2. He's had 1 hit since August 5.
    3. He's a formal Cardinal, and he still seems to think he's playing for them.
    4. He was sold to us as an adequate replacement for DeRosa.

  • In reply to AndCounting:

Sorry, everyone / That wasn't a haiku tweet / Miles warped my brain

  • In reply to dwag29:

    Haiku not required
But I think you covered it
    Mostly 'bout the brain

Everything seems to be his fault, doesn't it?

  • In reply to EdNickow:

YOU GUYS ARE SO RIGHT WHY IS IT THAT THE CUBS (HENDRY)PICKS UP THE GARBGE OTHER TEAMS DESPOSED OF THIS GUY HAS NO CLUE OF WHAT A GOOD BASEBALL PLAYER IS EVEN IF IT HIT HIM ON THE ...........

  • In reply to OSIFERO95:

    Hendry's excuse is
    Aaron Miles was a bargain
    Get what you pay for

  • It's really simple
Cubs fans don't like Miles because
    he does not play well.
