Chicago doesn't have a dome, so it'll never host a Super Bowl or a Final Four; but it is quickly becoming the home for the nation's premier prep basketball All-Star game.
The 2013 McDonald’s All American game will feature the top ranked player Canadian
-born Andrew Wiggins (Huntington Prep, W.Va. deciding between Florida State and Kentucky) and the former #1 ranked player Jabari Parker
from right here in the Chi. Parker from Simeon Career Academy, will be the crowd favorite. Kentucky may not make the NCAA Tournament this year, but they set an all time MAA record with 5 in this year's class.
The previous record of four was held by the Michigan Wolverines
(1991), Duke Blue Devils
(1999) and Kentucky Wildcats
(2011). The Boys Game begins at 8:30 p.m. CT April 3, and will broadcast live on ESPN.
With the exception of UK
, only the Tar Heels
and Blue Devils
have more than one. The Hoosiers
are the lone Big Ten
school to recruit one. However, a few undecideds remain...
Tonight, Illinois basketball leads SportsCenter. Illinois Basketball is a trending term; so are the Illini and Tyler Griffey, who had his Jimmy Chitwood moment. Doing a power rankings is fun and interesting in the beginning and/or middle of the season. Towards the end, it’s kind of useless. You just look at the standings. Also, preconference basketball doesn’t really mean as much as conference action. That’s when we’ll learn a lot more. Now that Butler has knocked off the #1 Hoosiers
, you know they’ll lose their spot at #1 here as well.
Guess who the new #1 is...
Entering this college football Saturday 4-0, Northwestern was just outside the national rankings. If that seemed perplexing, consider the unimpressive record of NU’s four vanquished opponents. After today however, with a 44-29 victory over the Indiana Hoosiers bringing NU to 5-0, the Wildcats should be well within the national rankings, and deservedly so. Not that... Read more »
No snarky or witty intro here, let’s just get down to the brass tax. You know what this post is about. For our team power rankings go here 1. Denard Robinson- Wolverines All his deep completions are just lucky jump balls that he throws up there. And he lofts it when he shouldn’t. And doesn’t... Read more »
These are highly subject to change. Brady Hoke remarked at Media Day that UM was picked fifth in their division a year ago; and just outside the top 25 in the year they won their last national title- 1997. So maybe these rankings don’t really mean all that much? Of course, that won’t stop you... Read more »

Like the famous book is titled “Death to the BCS ,” and it looks like it’s finally here as the University presidents announced approval of a 4-team seeded playoff for college football
. The committee will select teams based on conference championships and strength of schedule, beginning with the 2014 season.
There will be 6 bowls to be utilized as part of the semifinals, likely to include the 4 BCS bowls. The title game will be bid out to cities just like the Super Bowl. One city you’ll see for sure in the mix is Indianapolis...
The Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament tips off Thursday, March 8, at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Overshadowed this week by UNC-Duke, the best rivalry in college basketball and Syracuse-Georgetown, the greatest in the Big East, is Illini vs. Hoosiers, a great rivalry in itself.
