How to keep Olympic Momentum

unnamed15s season is literally right around the corner. The New York Times called rugby the best sport to watch this Olympic's game. Youth rugby is growing at an amazing rate, and we had TWO team go to Club National's for 7s Rugby. If you have not yet figured out who you want to play with or where to play, Chicago club teams are always welcoming to taking in new players and helping you learn the game or transition from your college playing to Club level from D1-D3. There is social touch rugby that takes place.

If you are looking for a place to have your children play, there are rugby academies for High School youth, as well as the Wapiti and Narwhals who will be having youth teams.

If your playing days are at the end but you still want to be involved in rugby, you should think about coaching. Rugby is continually growing and more and more schools are looking for people to coach. If you are a teacher at a high school, encourage your students to check out the sport and give them support. You can also volunteer to coach these teams. Morton High School, who has won several state championships, is looking for coaches. They have had an overwhelming HUGE interest expressed by young women who are eager to get into the game. Morton has had a rugby club for over 10 yrs and is now looking to expand with women's teams. You can contact Rugby Illinois to find out where you can be of help to local youth clubs.

The Illiana Exiles Rugby Club will be having a fundraiser Monday , August 22nd at the Texas Road House in Dyer, Illinois. The Chiefs Rugby Club, will be hosting a paintball fundraiser, Parents v Players, September 18th at the CPX Paintball fields in Joilet, Il.
