If you're itching for a rugby fix and aren't headed to nationals with your club team, a trip to Philly maybe just the thing for you. The College Rugby Championship Cup will have 8 premier women’s collegiate teams competing. There will also be men's 7s games. The 2014 National Small College Rugby 7s Championship will have 8 men’s teams that have qualified through regional tournaments from earlier this spring. Access to the NSCRO Championship are included if you get tickets for the CRC Games.
There will also be the High School Rugby Championship with over 60 Boys and Girls teams. Many of you may be thinking, WHY would you want to check out high school teams? Last year's state championships, out at the Blaze fields blew my mind! Rugby definitely has a promising future if you have seen the U23 USA Team and any of the other high school teams. These kids are in their prime, with open developing minds and really taking to and expanding the game. Thought not for the USA, check out this 18 year old from Auckland (and another reason to get pumped up about the USA v All Backs game)! Daniel Tupou is just 18 years old, weighs 300 pounds, plays as a prop, but moves like a winger! New Zealanders aren't joking when they say rugby is in Kiwi DNA!
