Think PINK! TRY RUGBY!

October is breast cancer awareness month. One thing that empowered women do is tackle health issues.  Though tackling players and making sure you're staying health aren't exactly related, being a confident woman makes being able to address your health issues easier. Athletes take better care of their body, and pay attention when things don't feel right or something hurts a bit more than usual. This Sunday you can support young women, by introducing them to a sport that will most definitely empower them and give them a boost of confidence. The Illinois Youth Rugby Association will be having a 'Girls Day of Rugby'. It's a sport every young woman should try out. Whether you play volleyball, basketball, or are a cheerleader (we had many ex-cheerleaders on my college team), it's a great game to get involved in.  The sports expansion on the high school boys level is amazing, as we saw with Brother Rice's 3 teams winning the State Title.  SO let's attempt to get the girls game on the same page and hope it transfers over into other parts of their lives, like health.
