Old School 40th Birthday Bash

Big City Bride’s sister company Big City Events does pretty much everything that doesn’t involve vows.  From promotional marketing to product launches…grand openings to private parties…corporate events, anniversaries and super special parties — whatever the occasion, Big City Events rocks it.  Big City Events recently teamed up with Chicago party band Too White Crew for an extreme 40th birthday party idea.

“South Carolina has never seen a party so fly!”

To surprise his wife, Andy not only threw a 40th birthday celebration but he hosted a party and concert at the Columbia Museum of Art in South Carolina that guests are still raving about.  Inspired by Chicago’s live hip hop cover band Too White Crew — an 80’s/90’s tribute to all things old school, Big City Events of Chicago helped Andy put together a party that got 220 people shaking their booty. Forty has never felt so young!

Andy flew in the 10-piece band Too White Crew from Chicago. Known as the Playboy mansion’s favorite band, they’ve mastered the best of 80’s and 90’s hip-hop covers and put on a show that is part music, part art, part comedy and all party.  Complete with choreographed Fly Girls, the band bum rushed the stage for almost three hours, taking guests back to high school, college and beyond with popular party anthems that bands rarely if ever cover.

Entertainment:  “It’s not just a band, it’s an adventure.”  The MC for Too White Crew presented the birthday girl with a “2011 special reserve vintage” bottle of Strawberry Hill to commemorate the day; the band opened and passed out packs of “Yo! MTV Raps” trading cards from 1991 to guests; the Fly Girls led line dances in between sets and awarded Colt 45 swag to those who performed the best running man, roger rabbit and “the worm”; a booty shake contest was held and the winner received TWC’s “Got Back?” tank top.
