The city is perfectly covered in fresh snow. It's beautiful and quiet and delicate for a rare moment. It's special and I appreciate it completely after the hectic holidays in the sludgy city. I embrace the cold and the slipping and choose to focus on the magic of floating flakes. The parks are covered smooth like flat fondant. The trees and the gates are carefully painted like the delicate details of piped icing.
Chicago is an amazing city, but just like cake, it's always better with frosting.
