Good news Friday Night Light fans, the movie sequel is a go! So says Connie Britton in a US Magazine article.

Britton, half of FNL power couple Tami and Eric Taylor, currently stars in FX's American Horror Story.
Sequel you say? Absolutely. Some of you may not realize, but FNL The Movie premiered in 2004 with Billy Bob Thorton, Connie Britton and Derek Luke. Britton was able to make the transition from the original film to the series -- thank goodness, but Thorton was replaced by the always solid, and recent Emmy winner, Kyle Chandler.
Series executive producers Peter Berg and Jason Katims are attached, with Katims due to write the feature script.
Who knows what the sequel's configuration will have in terms of character and storyline -- there are plenty of good actors who have come from this franchise, but I'm hoping against hope standouts likeĀ Michael B. Jordan (Vince Howard) and Taylor Kitsch (Tim Riggins) make substantial returns.
Who knows when the sequel will happen given how busy everyone is with other projects, but here's a fan with her fingers crossed for a timely miracle.
