I have professed my love for food trucks time and time again, so it's no surprise that I'm super excited about the Food Truck Social. This is the second year for this gathering, and it was so popular last year that it was expanded to the entire weekend.
Each day will feature 14+ food trucks, each with a variety of items and an exclusive dish for the event. Don't worry about having to awkwardly stand around to try to enjoy your food; there will be a communal dining area. There will also be pop-up food trucks on Saturday with celebrity chefs Brian Jupiter from Frontier, Carlos Gaytan from Mexique and Michael Kornick from MK and Ada St.
Of course, what would a Chicago festival be without live music and the obligatory retail and craft vendors. The website and Facebook pages both say they'll have over 30 vendors, but I haven't been able to find a list.
The event will take place on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 10:00 p.m. on Chicago Avenue between Wood and Wolcott.
Long live the food truck!
