There's no better way to spend a hot as hell afternoon or evening then in a nice, air conditioned movie theater. Especially when it's cheap and there's booze. The Brew & View is the alter ego of The Vic, showing movies on the days and evenings the venue doesn't have a concert.
The Brew & View is reminiscent of the old dollar theaters that only showed second-run movies. Whereas you imagine that admission is more than a buck, it's still really cheap. For $5 you catch a double feature of the three movies the theater is showing.
One of the best parts: you can eat and drink booze throughout the movie. I know there are places like that in the 'burbs, but they're usually pretty expensive and have a two-item minimum. I'd rather have the option. At the Brew & View, you can head up to a regular bar whenever you want and get booze and pizza. If you want something more substantial, you can order food from one of the partnering restaurants and have it delivered.
The theater is currently playing "That's My Boy" and "The Hunger Games." However, I'm extremely excited for the films coming to theater: "Dark Shadows," "The Avengers," and "Men in Black III." And since I'm the type of person who has a million movies I want to see but really just ends up watching "Friends" re-runs, I'm very excited!
