I always feel like Father's Day weekend is full of barbecues and golf outings. And since I'm a good daughter, I'm venturing out to the 'burbs to enjoy the breadsticks at the Schaumburg Olive Garden with my family. In case you're sticking around the city, here are a few dos and don'ts for you:
Since the Taste of Chicago has been going downhill over the last few years, I need to find another 'taste.' Enter Taste of Randolph Street. Since Randolph has such an amazing restaurant scene you're guaranteed to have an amazing variety.
I know I keep talking about Movies in the Park, but I have an absolutely must-see for you: The Sandlot. Grab a blanket and a discreet water bottle filled with your favorite beverage - whatever that may be - because Oz Park is the place to be on Saturday night.
Pizza Fest has returned after a three-year hiatus, and now it's going to be held in Uptown. While pizza can be delicious, my biggest problem is that I can't find a list of vendors who will be at the festival. All the website says is that attendees can sample thick, thin and gourmet pizza by the slice or a whole pie. If you're going to try to convince people to go to Wilson and Broadway, you have to try a little harder to entice.
