Welcome to amateur night. St. Paddy's Day is one of those "holidays" when I tend to hunker down in my apartment. However, I have friends in town so for the first time in many years I'm venturing out. This does not mean I'll be participating in anything with the words "crawl" or "kegs 'n eggs" in the title. Here are some of my pics for the weekend:

First stop, I'll be checking out the dyeing of the river. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend. I've seen it several times, and it's pretty amazing. Then, off to the parade.

I do love a good Irish pub, and you can't beat a delicious St. Paddy's Day feast. I get very snobby with my fare, so I only recommend braving the crowds for the best of the best. Metromix has put together a list of some of the must-see pubs. I've been to almost all of these, and I have to agree that they're very good.

Trying to get around downtown this weekend is going to suck. Fortunately, the Water Taxi has got you covered. For $3.00 this weekend you can hop into one of their boats and get a ride between Madison St. and Michigan Ave. Taxis run every half hour.

And for something completely different: this is your last weekend to enjoy the Flower and Garden Show! This year's theme is "Hort Couture," meaning the gardens are based on textiles and fabric colors. PRETTY!!!
